Überbackenes Hähnchen Metaxa

Gratinated chicken Metaxa

Preparation time: 30 minutes
Baking time: 20 minutes
Accessories: cutting board, knife, pan, baking dish

 

Ingredients:

  • 700 g corn chicken breast (or normal)
  • 2 tablespoons gyros seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika seasoning
  • 1 red bell bell pepper
  • 1 gr. onion
  • 250 gr. mushrooms
  • 2,5 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 kl can Polpa finest tomato pulp
  • 200 g creme fraiche
  • 75 ml Metaxa
  • salt/pepper
  • 1 pinch of sugar
  • 250 g Gouda

Preparation:

  1. Cut the chicken breast fillet into thin strips and season with the gyros spice, paprika spice and olive oil. It is best if you marinate the meat a few hours before and put it in the fridge.
  2. Cut the onions, peppers and mushrooms into strips as well.
  3. Now sauté the onions in a little olive oil and then add the peppers and mushrooms, saute everything until the liquid has evaporated. Then season it with salt and pepper.
  4. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside.
  5. Now add the chicken meat to the pan, sauté briefly and quickly. Then add the vegetables with the tomato paste.
  6. Then add the tomatoes, crème fraîche, Metaxa and a pinch of sugar. Bring everything to a boil and then simmer for a few minutes over low heat, seasoning and tasting again if necessary.
  7. The contents of the pan are now placed in the prepared baking dish and sprinkled with the cheese.
  8. Then put the casserole dish in the oven, bake at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.

It goes well with rice, chips or just a nice piece of baguette or bread.
